WILDERNESS SURVIVAL 4 hr  Stage 1

This course will be roughly a 4 hour course, covering the essentials of life, to help keep you, or a loved one safe in our forests.

The course will cover survival mentality and how to make a plan, a very effective shelter construction that takes only minutes.How to find wood and build a fire, as well as how to find and purify water for consumption.These are essential skills that you can use for a lifetime, in our great outdoors.

GEAR LIST REQUIRED (not provided)

1) 6×8 tarp

2) 50 feet paracord, mason twine.

3) Fire kit e.g Two disposable lighters, matches. Long lasting tinder,

e.g wax fiber blocks, any firestarters that burns more than 3mins, in bbq section at stores will work.

4) Fixed blade knife.

5) Leather gloves.

WILDERNESS SURVIVAL 4 HR Stage 2

 The Stage 2 course is an upgrade from Stage 1. With both courses you will have the same requirements as the, Wilderness Survival Skills course. Having both courses allows you to move up to the intermediate course. This course will further your growth in fire, water and includes various ways to get rescue with signaling.

WILDERNESS SURVIVAL SKILLS – Day Class

PRICE:  Group Instruction per person (three plus) $120 CDN

One to three person Instruction $160 CDN per person.

This course is meant to help prepare you, if your ever lost or stranded for a few hours, or a few days. Learning skills in survival mentality, recommended gear, shelter building, fire, water and lastly signaling for rescue.

GEAR LIST REQUIRED (not provided)

ADD $20 TO COURSE COST, TO RENT A GEAR KIT FOR THE DURATION OF THE COURSE (Leather gloves not provided)

1) 6×8 tarp

2) strong cordage at least 25 ft. e.g 550 paracord, bank line, mason twine.

3) 1 liter single walled stainless steel water bottle with removable lid, to place in a fire to boil water.

WILDERNESS INTERMEDIATE SURVIVAL – Day Course

PRICE :
Group Instruction per person (three plus) $150 CDN
One To Three Person Instruction $200 CDN per person.
MUST HAVE WILDERNESS SURVIVAL CLASS TO PARTICIPATE
This course broadens your skills to a new level. You learn to use the land for Shelter, and the use of multiple natural tinders for fire, etc. Using the skills of the basics with conjunction of this course, can be a huge asset if ever lost or stranded, or anytime in our great outdoors.

GEAR LIST REQUIRED (not Provided)
PROPER clothing and footwear for the terrain and weather conditions are a MUST.
1) 6×8 heavy duty Poly Tarp
2) Strong cordage at least 50ft, e.g 550 paracord, mason twine.
3) Leather gloves
4) Folding saw or buck saw
5) Good fixed blade knife 5″ minimum and full tang recommended.
6) Fire kit e.g ferro rod, Solar lens 5x minimum, matches or lighter.

WILDERNESS ADVANCED SURVIVAL 24HR
PRICE: 
Group  per person (3 person plus) $200
One to three person  $250
MUST HAVE COMPLETED BOTH WILDERNESS SURVIVAL AND INTERMEDIATE COURSES.

This course will further broaden your Wilderness Survival skills to help become more self reliant in our forests. You will arrive at noon, and head into the forest. Instruction will start with finding a camp sight and getting it ready for the night. This is a cold weather course so firewood is going to be needed to stay warm, water will be boiled for hydration. Primitive and modern trapping will be covered, and traps set to try and harvest food to prepare the next day to cook and eat. You will learn game processing, and cooking over a fire, as well and respect, to the life that was given to feed you.  There will be far more covered and learned, to help you Thrive, NOT JUST SURVIVE.

SPECIALTY SKILLS WILDERNESS COURSE

This course will be a one to three person day course
PRICE: $150 per person
The Specialty Course will be offering training in the area you choose. You will be able to choose from different catagories to strengthen the skills you want.

Categories will be:

SHELTER – This will cover different tarp and natural shelter Building
GEAR LIST:
6×8 tarp
50ft paracord, and mason twine

Folding saw or bucksaw

FIRE – Will cover natural tinders and different ways to make fire. Covering Ferro rod, flint and steel, and bow drill.
GEAR LIST:

Flint and steel kit, recommended not required

KNIFE SKILLS COURSE

This course will be a 4 hour course.

PRICE : $60 PER PERSON

In the knife skills course, we will be covering

 Knife safety and helping to prevent cuts to your person.

I will go over different grinds and what is best for the job, and show how they work.

 Hands on building of your skills will be practiced by 

Carving notches for camp projects that can be handy for many uses.

Carving primitive traps, snare and deadfall.

Batoning wood for fire making, and honing your skills to make fine shavings for fire making. 

According on the class and time, there may be more areas covered as well.

GEAR REQUIRED (not provided)

NO FOLDING BLADES PLEASE.

1) One knife with at least a 5 inch blade or longer, and full tang is required. You can bring other knives of your choice as well, to see how each performs with each task.

2) A folding saw or bucksaw.

3) Roll of Mason twine or 50’Paracord.

4) Leather Gloves.

PRIMITIVE TRAPPING SKILLS COURSE   

18+ is required for this course

Course will be roughly a 4 hour course

The course will provide knife safety, learning many carving cuts and skills, that can be used for a lifetime in the wilderness, for various projects. You will learn traps that was used long ago, to harvest game for Life saving needs. We will be covering the Deadfall trap, Snaring and twitch traps. These skills can build your skills with a knife and be fun to practice and master your skill.

Gear Required

1) Leather gloves

2) fixed blade knife for carving,  NO FOLDING BLADES

3) Folding or fixed pruning saw

4) Roll of Mason twine, atleast 20 ft of Paracord

WEEKEND SURVIVAL COURSE

PRICE $350/ PERSON. MAX 6 people, age 14 minimum and must be accompanied by parent or guardian.

 This course will cover the essentials of survival, and progress into Survival in more depth, connecting with the forest around you. With this experience and training, you will grow your understanding to a new level, that can help you stay safe if ever lost or stranded. You will also learn skills, that you can share at camp, on a day hike, and almost any, outdoor adventure you take.

 The course will start Friday evening, and end Sunday noon. You will spend most of your time in the forest during this time. Friday night you can sleep in a set up you bring example a tent or hammock, or in a survival shelter that we will cover that evening. Saturday night will be sleeping in a survival shelter, to experience how it feels. Knowing how a shelter works and feels, leaves you with far less surprises in a true situation, it can ease stress and panic, if you know what to expect.

This course will cover:

Survival mentality, and gear recommended

Shelter fundamentals and set up, with a tarp and cordage, then progress into shelters using what you find in nature, and how to control your Core temp

How a fire works and what wood to collect. As well as a technique that increases fire success. Learn how to collect and use natural tinders off the land, and making fire with lighters, fero rod techniques and Solar fire skills.

Water collection thru modern and primitive means, how to find and make it safe for human consumption

Signalling and the importance of how the human eyes work. How we see to take advantage of that to set up signalling to get found.  Also sound and rules that are know internationally, to get help.  

These skills will better prepare you for your outdoor time in our wilderness. Hands on learning and experiencing how all the teaching works can grow your skills and confidence.
